THE FALLACY OF SIN: DOING UNTO OTHERS WHAT YOU THINK YOU CAN GET AWAY WITH
Fallacy is defined as a deceptive, misleading, or false notion, belief, etc.: That the world is flat was at one time a popular fallacy. A misconception or delusion
My husband often said especially when driving that people will do whatever they think they can get away with. We see the shift that has happened in our society and all over the world that wrong is called right and right is called wrong. The whole book of Judges is an example of how a whole nation lived according to what was right in their own eyes. This is the fallacy, the delusion of sin.
GOD demands holiness and righteous living. These days, people want to deny God and live the way they want to live.
EXAMPLES If you live in sin, when you know the way….
What is the solution? How do we turn this around? Let’s go to the Word!
Psalm 15 King James Version (KJV) 1 Lord, who shall abide in thy tabernacle? who shall dwell in thy holy hill? 2 He that walketh uprightly, and worketh righteousness, and speaketh the truth in his heart. 3 He that backbiteth not with his tongue, nor doeth evil to his neighbour, nor taketh up a reproach against his neighbour.4 In whose eyes a vile person is contemned; but he honoureth them that fear the Lord. He that sweareth to his own hurt, and changeth not. 5 He that putteth not out his money to usury, nor taketh reward against the innocent. He that doeth these things shall never be moved.
James 4 King James Version (KJV) 1 Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God. 7 Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. 8 Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded.14 Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away.15 For that ye ought to say, If the Lord will, we shall live, and do this, or that. 16 But now ye rejoice in your boastings: all such rejoicing is evil. 17 Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin.
Psalm 24 King James Version (KJV) 1 The earth is the Lord's, and the fulness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein. 2 For he hath founded it upon the seas, and established it upon the floods.3 Who shall ascend into the hill of the Lord? or who shall stand in his holy place? 4 He that hath clean hands, and a pure heart; who hath not lifted up his soul unto vanity, nor sworn deceitfully.5 He shall receive the blessing from the Lord, and righteousness from the God of his salvation.6 This is the generation of them that seek him, that seek thy face, O Jacob. Selah. 7 Lift up your heads, O ye gates; and be ye lift up, ye everlasting doors; and the King of glory shall come in. 8 Who is this King of glory? The Lord strong and mighty, the Lord mighty in battle. 9 Lift up your heads, O ye gates; even lift them up, ye everlasting doors; and the King of glory shall come in.10 Who is this King of glory? The Lord of hosts, he is the King of glory. Selah.
Don’t be deceived by sin. Don’t die the death of a fool. Give yourself completely to God and walk according to His Word. Teach and be an example to your family and friends. If you have never been saved, today is the day to be saved. Jesus is willing and ready to change your whole life right now!
